Privacy Policy

Memora is a personal memory app. It helps you capture, organize and rediscover the moments that matter to you.
This Privacy Policy explains how Memora LLC ("Memora," "we," "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you use the Memora app, the website at https://mem0ra.com, and our other services (together, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy also describes your privacy rights. More information about your rights, and how to use them, is in section 4 ("Your rights and choices").
If you live in the United States, please also read section 10 ("Additional disclosures for US residents").
1. Personal information we collect
Personal information you give us
- Account information. Your name, email address, username, password, date of birth and, if you choose to add them, a phone number and a profile photo. We store your password only as a secure hash.
- Your memories. What you choose to keep: text, photos, videos and voice. When you speak, Memora turns your voice into text. The app keeps the recording on your phone; we do not store it on our servers.
- People, places and dates. The names, places and dates you include in your memories, or confirm when Memora suggests them.
- Your questions. What you ask Memora about your memories, and its answers.
- Messages to us. What you send when you contact support or give feedback.
Your memories may include sensitive details, such as health, family or beliefs. We use them only to save, organize and bring back your memories for you.
Personal information we receive automatically when you use the Services
- Location, if you allow it. The location of your photos and memories, and your phone's location while you use the app. Memora uses your location in the background only if you turn on unusual-place alerts in Settings. You can turn location off at any time in your phone's settings.
- Device and usage information. Your device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and which screens and features you use. This never includes what your memories say.
- Crash reports. When something fails, a technical report of the error. We remove memory text, photos and other personal content from these reports before they are sent.
- Push notification token. If you allow notifications, a token that lets us send them to your phone.
- Cookies and similar storage on our website. See our Cookie Policy.
Personal information we receive from others
- Google or Apple sign-in. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address, and your profile picture if you have one. We do not receive your contacts, or anything else from that account.
- Purchases. Apple or Google processes your payment. Through RevenueCat, we receive only your subscription status: your plan, whether it is a free trial, and when it renews. We never see your card number.
People in your memories
Your memories may name or show other people, such as family and friends. Memora uses those names only to organize and search your own memories, for example to find the moments you spent with someone. Memora does not read your phone's contacts. Anyone who is not a Memora user and wants information about them removed can email privacy@mem0ra.com.
2. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Create and run your account, and keep you signed in.
- Save your memories, and organize them by date, place, people and chapter.
- Bring memories back to you, through recaps, reminders and resurfaced moments.
- Answer your questions about your memories, and turn your voice into text.
- Check your age, so that Memora is used only by people old enough to use it (see section 7).
- Process your subscription and unlock the features you pay for.
- Send messages about your account, such as security alerts and changes to these policies.
- Answer you when you contact us.
- Keep the Services safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Understand how the Services are used, and fix and improve them. For this we use usage information only, never what your memories say.
- Learn which of our links and campaigns bring people to Memora.
- Comply with the law.
We never use your information to show you ads, we never sell it, and we never use your memories for demonstrations.
AI features
Memora uses AI to describe your photos, turn your voice into text, search your memories, and answer your questions. To do this, Memora sends the content needed for each task to the AI providers listed in section 3. They process it only to perform the task for you, and they do not use it to train their models.
You choose whether to turn these features on the first time Memora asks, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings, then Privacy. With them off, your memories still save.
AI suggestions, such as captions, places, people, moods and dates, can be wrong. You can edit or delete any of them.
3. Who we share personal information with
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run Memora, and only what each one needs to do its job. They work under contracts that let them use it only on our instructions, and each provider is bound by contract to protect your information at least as well as this Privacy Policy does.

We may also share personal information:
- When you ask us to. For example, when you send a memory with your phone's share sheet. Once you send a copy, we cannot change or delete it.
- To comply with the law or protect people. When the law requires it, or when we believe it is needed to protect someone from harm, as described in our Terms of Service.
- If Memora changes ownership. As part of a merger, financing or sale of all or part of our business. The new owner must keep the promises in this Privacy Policy, or ask you before using your information in a different way.
4. Your rights and choices
- See, download or delete your data. In the app, go to Settings, then Privacy. You can download a full copy of your data, delete any memory, or delete your account and all of your data.
- Correct your information. Edit your profile and your memories in the app.
- Change your consent. Turn AI features or usage statistics on or off in Settings, then Privacy.
- Turn off analytics on our website. Use the switch in our Cookie Policy.
- Location and notifications. Turn them off at any time in your phone's settings.
- Ask us. Email privacy@mem0ra.com for anything else.
Depending on where you live, the law may give you more rights, such as the right to know what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to get a copy, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. To use them, email privacy@mem0ra.com. We will confirm your identity before we act, using the information already on your account. Someone you authorize can make a request for you, with your signed permission. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. If we still decline, you can complain to your state's attorney general.
5. Data transfers
Memora LLC is based in the United States. The service providers in section 3 may process personal information in the United States and in other countries. When they do, they protect it under their contracts with us, as described in section 3.
6. Data retention and security
How long we keep personal information
- Your account and memories: for as long as you have an account, unless you delete them sooner.
- When you delete a memory or your account: we delete it from our active systems at once, and remove copies in backups within 7 days.
- Usage information: up to 1 year.
- Records the law requires: such as records of purchases, for as long as the law requires.
How we keep personal information safe
We protect your information with technical and organizational safeguards. Data travels over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. You can turn on two-factor authentication for your account. No service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed without permission. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
7. Children and teens
Memora is built for adults. A parent or legal guardian on the Legacy plan can invite their own child, aged 13 to 17, to join their household. A household shares the plan's monthly photo allowance, but not memories. A teen's memories are private to the teen. Other members of the household, including the parent or guardian, cannot see them in the app. A teen's account does not appear when other users search for people. The parent or guardian who sends the invitation agrees to our Terms of Service on the teen's behalf, and can remove the teen from the household at any time.
Memora is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we find that a child under 13 has an account, we close it and delete its data.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
When we update this Privacy Policy, we change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your personal information in a way you would not expect, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.

10. Additional disclosures for US residents
Some US state laws ask us to describe our practices using their categories. In the last 12 months, we collected these categories of personal information, for the purposes and from the sources described above:

We disclose these categories to the service providers in section 3, for the purposes in section 2. We have not sold or shared personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose that the law would let you limit. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, because Memora does not track you across other websites.
